TEACHING ENGLISH TO YOUNG LEARNERS

This book is the result of the collective effort of both lecturers and students, who have contributed their knowledge, creativity, and dedication in writing each essay. It is expected that this book will contribute significantly to the field of Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL). The strategies presented in each essay are designed not only to inspire teachers with practical approaches, but also to provide theoretical grounding that supports effective English instruction for children. In the context of Indonesia, where the government has suggested that English be introduced at the elementary school level, the need for appropriate references and resources becomes even more urgent. This book is therefore hopefully to serve as a helpful guide for teachers, student-teachers, and policy makers in understanding how English can be taught meaningfully, effectively, and in ways that are suitable for young learners’ cognitive and emotional development.
